Aidan's Memorial Gifts...
To celebrate Aidan's birthday each year, we (as a family) make a personal donation to a chosen charity that has links with supporting families who have lost a child, or families who are raising children with life threatening or life limiting conditions.
This page, more than anything, is a record for ourselves - but for anyone interested, below you will find details of the charities and organisations we have previously supported in Aidan's honour (on a personal basis).
If you would like to suggest a charity or non-profit organisation that we may wish to donate to, we would love to hear your thoughts.

"There are some who bring a light so great into the world
that even after they are gone, their light remains..."

Always Remembered, Always Loved
- 2017 - Aidan's 5th Birthday: This year we are personally funding 100 Heart in their Hand packs for bereaved parents at Airedale General Hospital. We are honoured to be teaming up with Cathy Millburn, who makes each beautiful heart and key ring by hand.
- 2016 - Aidan's 4th Birthday: This year we decided to make a donation to York Hospital's Community Nursing Team so that their Nursery Nurses were able to buy extra crafts, activities and toys for the children with varying medical needs who they visit at home. The money was well spent and knowing how much care and happiness the team have provided our daughter (Aidan's younger sister) with, we have no doubt that it will have brought smiles to many little faces.
- 2015 - Aidan's 3rd Birthday: We funded a stock of Pop n Grow clothing for Airedale General Hospital's Neonatal Unit, ensuring that families were able to instantly use Pop n Grow clothing if they wanted to, without having to wait for their own pack to arrive. Pop n Grow provide specialist clothing for children who are ill and can not be dressed in 'normal' clothing, as it may not accomodate the tubes and wires of medical equipment. As the parents of two children who have spent time in NICU, we know how much of a difference it can make when you are able to lovingly dress your little one when they are so unwell. We intend to make regular donations to Pop n Grow to ensure that Airedale General Hospital's NICU always has a stock available of specialist clothing.
- 2014 - Aidan's 2nd Birthday: We donated cuddly toy elephants to Aching Arms in Aidan's honour. Each elephant had a star on it's foot to symbolise Aidan, and a ribbon around it's neck with a tag on, detailing who it had been donated in memory of. Aching Arms are a wonderful charity, and we were honoured to be able to work with them to provide other families with some comfort.
- 2013 - Aidan's 1st Birthday: To celebrate our son's first birthday, we donated his birthday funds into Aidan's Elephants - ensuring that we were able to work on providing more memory boxes to Airedale General Hospital.
- 2012 - Aidan's 6 month Birthday: We, along with our family and friends, funded the first donation of 60 Aidan's Elephants memory boxes to Airedale General Hospital.
